Associate OR Senior Associate, Government Affairs

Role Summary
The right candidate is a motivated self-starter who will support a growing and dynamic team. The candidate should have between one to three (Associate/Senior Associate) years of experience in government relations, preferably recent Capitol Hill or government affairs/public affairs experience. This role will support Prism Group’s government and public affairs team, reporting to the firm’s Partners and the Government Affairs Director.
Candidate should be capable of working independently with minimal supervision, highly organized, and attentive to detail. To successfully execute projects for our clients, the candidate must be able to manage multiple priorities at once, solve problems, and have excellent written and verbal communication skills. This position is based in Washington, DC.
Primary Responsibilities
Support the Federal Government Affairs teams
Attend client calls and perform administrative tasks including scheduling, note-taking, and tracking action items for projects.
Conduct policy research and monitor policy issues for clients.
Attend relevant hearings/events and provide written summaries.
Analyze and track legislation and regulatory developments.
Support Client Work-streams
Prepare policy talking points for C-Suite leadership for meetings, panels, interviews, etc.
Coordinate fly-ins and Congressional/Agency meetings.
Develop collateral including advocacy toolkits, and one-pagers, and work with graphics and communications teams.
Event planning (both virtual and in-person) including webinars, receptions, panels, and conferences, and keynote speakers.

Qualifications and Skills
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university.
Exceptional writing abilities. Writing samples will be expected.
1+ years for Associate or 3+ years for Senior Associate.
Excellent writing, verbal, and interpersonal skills are required.
Ability to quickly process information and analyze tasks.
Ability to project manage and handle various issues and projects at simultaneously.
Research (qualitative and quantitative)
Preferred recent experience with Congress.
Excellent time management skills and ability to balance deliverables in a multi-client environment.
High attention to detail and can exercise critical thinking in a fast-paced environment.
Flexibility to travel and work outside of the office and/or during evenings or weekends.
Location
This is a full-time position based at our office in downtown Washington DC. Currently, Prism Group employees work remotely on Mondays and Fridays, unless otherwise warranted by client meetings or travel. We are in-office on Tuesday-Thursday. Normal business hours are usual, but this person must be able to work evenings or weekends if needed.
Compensation and Benefits 
This position range is $45,000-$60,000, with bonuses (client retention and merit-based), and 401 (k) match program after tenure
