THE STATE OF THE STATES

SESSIONS BY THE NUMBERS:

Thirty-one state legislatures are in regular session.

WHAT WE'RE WATCHING:

In Colorado, Senate Majority Leader Robert Rodriguez (D) introduced an AI regulation bill requiring developers to take “reasonable care” that their technologies do not take part in discrimination.

California may become the first state to adopt a "right to disconnect" policy with AB 2751, which would prevent employers from requiring employees to respond to work communications outside of working hours. Critics and supporters of the bill are weighing its potential impacts on work-life balance and California business operations.
