Prism Group's Daily Summary
REPUBLICANS’ RECONCILIATION STRATEGY STILL IN FLUX... The House Budget Committee today will vote on a budget outline that would set topline spending numbers for tax, border security, and other Republican policy priorities, just a day after a Senate panel advanced its own slimmed-down measure. The dueling action between both chambers highlights the lack of consensus among Republicans when it comes to the strategy behind advancing President Trump’s domestic policy agenda.
WRESTLING WITH THE DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION: LINDA MCMAHON’S NOMINATION HEARING... Today, the Senate Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions (HELP) Committee will hold Linda McMahon’s nomination hearing to be Secretary of Education. The former SBA Administrator during Trump’s first term, McMahon will be heavily questioned regarding President Trump’s ongoing calls to dismantle the Department of Education, as well as school choice, student loan and aid plans, and educational research grants, among many other topics.
