J.P. MORGAN COO: PRIVATE CREDIT SMALL BUSINESS LENDING NEEDS MONITORING... J.P. Morgan Chase's President and Chief Operating Officer Daniel Pinto is calling for more focus on relationships between small businesses and private credit providers. In an interview with Bloomberg TV on Wednesday, he said that private credit’s funding of the sector needs attention since the industry has yet to suffer blowback from an economic downturn.


SHIFTING PRIORITIES: TRUMP ADMINISTRATION RETHINKS DEI AND WORK FROM HOME… The anti-DEI message that helped launch Trump to his second presidency is taking effect in the early days of his administration. Yesterday, following a memo sent out by the Office of Personnel Management (OPM), all government DEI workers were put on paid leave and all agency heads were told to remove all outward facing media related to DEI. Additionally, one of Trump’s many executive orders signed Monday requires federal workforce to return to in person work. This comes as a large shift after the COVID-19 pandemic, which set a national trend of hybrid work environments.


PRESIDENT TRUMP TO SPEAK AT THE WORLD ECONOMIC FORUM TODAY... President Trump is expected to speak today at 11:00 AM at a gathering of government leaders, CEOs, and other international figures. Many of the attendees are hoping to hear more about his international vision and what his economic plans mean for their own countries or companies. At the top of everyone’s minds are Trump’s tariff plans, which remain a question mark for domestic and foreign audiences.

WHAT WE'RE WATCHING: 

The New Hampshire House is taking up right-to-work legislation that would bar collective bargaining agreements from requiring private sector employees to join or contribute to a union. 


Utah Senate President Stuart Adams (R) wants the state to be the first to house micro-nuclear reactors to achieve his goal of tripling energy production by 2050. Adams said energy expansion would fuel data centers that would allow Utah to lead on AI.
