PRESIDENTIAL RACE SHAKEUP COULD ALTER SMALL BUSINESS POLICY TRAJECTORY... Following President Biden’s surprise announcement on Sunday, all signs point to Vice President Kamala Harris as the presumptive Democratic nominee. While she is unlikely to differ significantly from the President when it comes to small business issues, Politico has a useful guide on where we may see some departures – particularly when it comes to tax proposals such as an expanded CTC, among other notable items.
NSBA TESTIFIES ON SMALL BIZ VETERANS ISSUES… National Small Business Association member Bill Belknap will testify today before the House Small Business Committee, sharing his thoughts on how agencies can improve the federal contracting space for veteran entrepreneurs. A new Pennsylvania state budget has put $50 million into the Clean Streams Fund, renewing optimism among local conservationists and agricultural workers. A $10 million agricultural innovation fund is also set to open for proposals next month. This funding will aid farmers in reducing runoff and improving water quality, and support innovative agricultural advancements statewide.
Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear (D) announced the renewal of the state’s contracts with six Innovation Hubs, which provide essential support for startups and entrepreneurs. This initiative will provide statewide economic growth and job creation through a $3 million investment.
