Prism Group's Daily Summary

SENATE DEMS SEEK FLOOR TIME FOR TAX PACKAGE... Democratic senators are growing impatient with the lack of action on a major tax relief bill and are compiling a filibuster-proof majority to break the logjam, according to recent reports. With the Senate scheduled to recess for two weeks soon, both time and political momentum to move the roughly $80 billion package are quickly running out.

AN OUT OF THIS WORLD WORKFORCE... Showcasing that even niche sectors are facing talent shortages, the Aerospace Corp. and the Space Foundation have partnered to expand the Space Workforce 2030 program. As the commercial space industry continues to expand, the United States’ Artemis program will establish the Lunar Gateway space station orbiting the moon that will help facilitate the construction of a permanent base and launch system on the lunar surface. Expanding STEM talent pools is necessary to not only complete this mission, but to also continue exploring a new economic frontier.

A Nevada state employees' union has successfully negotiated with the state to ensure that long-serving, highly rated members are eligible for a revived longevity pay program. The union also negotiated an 11% salary increase for all state employees starting in July.

New York's highest court has ruled that state and city human rights laws protect job applicants living outside New York. This landmark case expands workplace discrimination protections to nonresidents seeking employment in New York.
