NSBA RESPONDS TO CTA APPEAL… The National Small Business Association filed its brief yesterday in its ongoing suit challenging the constitutionality of the Corporate Transparency Act. The case is now before the 11th Circuit Court of Appeals, following a favorable decision at a lower court earlier this year and subsequent appeal by the federal government. Oral arguments in the case are set to take place in September.
GOT AN IDEA FOR A TOY? TOYMAKERS WANT TO HEAR FROM YOU… Toy companies that have direct-to-consumer models do not have the same audience reach that distributors like Amazon have, but a unit devoted to direct sales still provides advantages for the overall business, said Jaime M. Katz, an analyst who covers the toy industry for Morningstar, a financial services company.

Arizona Governor Katie Hobbs (D) and the Arizona Commerce Authority have launched new small business support programs, including the Arizona Loan Guarantee Program and Technical Assistance Program. The programs’ intent is to address capital access issues, particularly for underserved communities, to ensure financial stability and growth opportunities for Arizonan small businesses.
Governor Kathy Hochul (D) celebrated National Small Business Month in New York by launching new programs to support the state’s small businesses. This includes a $6 million Innovation Matching Grants Program and increased support for businesses insured by the New York State Insurance Fund, with a focus on expediting minority- and women-owned business certifications.
