Prism Group's Daily Summary

SBA CELEBRATES 11th ANNUAL NATIONAL VETERAN'S SMALL BUSINESS WEEK... Veterans Day is a time to honor the patriotism and service of our U.S. Armed Forces service members, but it is also a time to celebrate America’s veteran entrepreneurs. The U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) has announced the 11th annual National Veterans’ Small Business Week Celebration (NVSBW) is taking place this week from November 11 to November 15, 2024. This is a great opportunity to continue to celebrate and support the brave men and women who served in the armed services.

A CONTINUING RESOLUTION... The current government funding resolution expires on December 20. Given the recent election results that place Republicans in control of the Presidency, Senate, and likely the House, the expected timetable for passing spending bills has changed. This may result in another Continuing Resolution (CR) that extends current funding levels until September of 2025, freeing up the Trump Administration from dealing with a potential government shutdown in their first 100 days.

FINCEN OFFERS LIMITED CTA RELIEF... The Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (FinCEN) recently announced that certain small businesses affected by several natural disasters will receive an additional six months to comply with the Corporate Transparency Act’s year-end filing deadline. Affected entities can learn more about these modified filing obligations here.
