Prism Group's Daily Summary

HOUSE TO VOTE ON STOPGAP MEASURE WITH CONTINUING RESOLUTION... The House will move forward this week with a vote on a GOP-backed stopgap measure to fund the government through March 2025. Despite the backing of Speaker Mike Johnson, the measure faces opposition from Democrats and some Republican members of Congress. It combines a six-month continuing resolution with voting legislation to prevent noncitizen voting in federal elections. Senate Democrats have declared the proposal "dead on arrival," making it likely the measure will face intense gridlock.

Four states are in regular session.

WHAT WE'RE WATCHING:

The new law, set to take effect in 2025, allows performers to withdraw from contracts with vague AI clauses and prevents the digital cloning of deceased artists without estate consent.

Governor Katie Hobbs (D) announced Arizona will receive a $7.9 million grant from the U.S. Department of the Treasury to provide support for small businesses. The grant will focus on rural, minority, and underserved business owners in industries like clean energy, semiconductors, and manufacturing.
